1968-1982 FRONT END REINFORCEMENT / HEADER BAR – METAL

1968-1982 Corvette steel front hood surround panel reinforcement bar attaches to the underside of the hood surround panel to support the headlight assemblies.

On the 1968-1972 Corvettes there was a bonding strip riveted to the bar and glued to the front end, while on the 1973-1982 the metal bar was glued directly to the underside of the hood surround between the headlamp doors and the hood opening. We recommend bonding with adhesive CC #143202. The aluminum rivets often corrode and will cause bumps under the paint.
