This 1961-1962 C1 Corvette fuel meter (sender) has a range of 0 -30 Ohms. This fuel gauge is like an OHM meter in that it measures electrical resistance, the higher the resistance, the higher the needle goes. When the float is “down” resistance as measured with an ohm meter, is near 0. With the float “up” resistance is about 14 Ohms
Electrical components such as sending units are non-returnable parts.
Always refer to a factory service manual when diagnosing engine service problems. You can damage electrical components if the proper procedures are not followed. Be sure you are replacing the correct part.
